What is Home Infusion Therapy


In-Home Infusion Therapy (IV) is the administration of intravenous medications to patients, provided in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of their own home. Patients needing IV drugs and Nutritional Therapy can remain at home instead of coming to a medical facility for treatment.

Our Home Infusion Program will help you to resume your daily activities and maintain your independent lifestyle. All of the equipment, supplies and medication you will need are shipped directly to your home. Our staff of trained nurses will provide you with the education, medical care and support you need throughout the duration of your treatment plan. In addition, we will teach you how to take an active role in your own healthcare. You will learn how to properly and safely manage and administer your own medications .

  • Provide IV Site Care; IV Therapy Implementation Program
  • Teach patient/caregiver proper Universal Precautions and hand washing procedures, S/S of infiltration, flushes of heparin and normal saline, site care / dressing changes, proper IV treatment administration; and whom to call for questions or concerns 
  • Obtain blood for specific lab tests, ordered by your MD
  • Multiple medication teaching including route, schedule, functions and possible side effects
  • Assess the patient response to treatment and/or intervention
